Leeza Hernandez grew up on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England. She spent many childhood afternoons chasing Billy, a boisterous Doberman pinscher and Kurt, a mischievous German shepherd, all around the island. When she visits now, a shih tzu called Chewie lives up to her name and even tries to chew Leeza’s sketchbook.

Even though at home Leeza shares her apartment with fluffy cat Maisy and goldfish, Daisy and Goldie, there are plenty of local pooches that greet her in the neighborhood, including Beauford, a chocolate lab and Buddy, a peppy morkie pup.

A graduate of Newcastle College of Art & Design, Leeza lives in New Jersey with her husband and daughter. Dog Gone! is her picture book debut as an author. Visit www.leezaworks.com.
